Feedback is open for 30 days
The Government of Yukon launched a public engagement on September 9, 2026 to review the Yukon Nominee Program. The online engagement runs for 30 days and closes October 8, 2026.
The government says the review will help identify improvements to the program's sustainability, fairness and transparency while considering Yukon's labour-market needs.
Three surveys cover different participants
- A public survey is open to Yukon residents and other interested participants.
- Separate surveys seek feedback from employers and foreign nationals who use or are affected by the program.
- People who participated in the YNP during the previous three years may be contacted directly for targeted feedback.
The consultation itself does not change current eligibility
Yukon says demand for the program has grown while the federal nomination allocation has declined. The consultation is intended to inform recommendations and program adjustments expected to begin in 2027.
The announcement does not close a stream, create a new intake or give priority to a person who completes a survey. Current applications and eligibility rules remain governed by the official program instructions unless Yukon publishes a formal change.
A public findings report will follow
After the engagement closes, Yukon plans to publish a What We Heard report and use the feedback to develop recommendations. Any future eligibility, intake or selection changes should be assessed only when the government publishes their final wording and effective date.
